Flying Over Flushing collection-travel " harboring the kind ofPassenger jets, on their descent into LaGuardia Airport, are known for their low passes over the Chinese neighborhood of Flushing, Queens. In this double exposure image, a jet coming in for a landing is paired with a jumble of signs near Flushing's Main Street. It was taken by Times staff photographer Damon Winter, who won the Pulitzer Prize in Feature Photography in 2009.
