with appealing dark patina around the edges of the cross and the black core nicely preserved

Germany, Imperial. A Wound Badge, Gold Grade Buy Now circumscribed by Cyrillic inscription reading(Verwundetenabzeichen in Gold). Constructed of gilded bronze, screw back style with plate, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel wreathed with a central Stahlhelm (Steel Helmet) on top of two crossed swords, unmarked measuring 36. 83 mm (w) x 41. 77 mm (h), weighing 8. 5 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
