Footnote: The Association was founded in Bucharest in 1927 with the aim of popularizing flying. It acquired more than forty aeroplanes and was active at the Baneasa, Clinceni Giulesti, Otopeni and Popesti Leordeni airfields around Bucharest and elsewhere in provincial centres such as Alexandria, Cluj and Iasi. Romania had a considerable aviation industry in the 1920s and
