Saxony, Kingdom. A Commemorative Cross For 1870/71 Hold reverse centre present the engraving(Erinnerungskreuz fr 1870 71). Instituted 6 March 1871 by King Johann. (1871 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze with blue enamel, on loop for suspension with a period correct replacement ribbon, consisting of a Cross Patte with pebbled arms joined together through the quadrants by a circular laurel and oak leaf wreath, the obverse bearing a central raised monogram of King Johann, within a blue enameled ring bearing six gilt stars, the reverse
